Elie Wiesel was one of the most influential people in history. His experience was a story that the world couldn’t believe. His life tells the incredible experience of the Holocaust-this makes him an important historical figure.Elie Wiesel became a professional journalist. He wrote novels and plays. For example, "Night" represents his experience in the Holocaust. He also wrote for a newspaper in both France and Israel. He became very famous and he used his fame to plead for justice in Soviet Union, South Africa, Vietnam, Biafra and Bangladesh. In 1978, he was named the chairman of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. In 1985, he was awarded the Compression Medal of Freedom. And in a year later, he received the Nobel Peace Prize. If Elie Wiesel w never wrote about the Holocaust, people would not really know what happened. But his courage and leadership led him to know what he and others went through in the Holocaust. Although there were others that experienced the Holocaust, Elie Wiesel became famous because of his courage and great leadership.
Elie Wiesel will always be known for what he has done. He managed to overcome the Holocaust. His bad experience lead him to learn from it, and try to tell the story to help others. Elie Wiesel was and is one of the most important historical figures in the world.
