Elie Wiesel was born on September 30, 1928 in Sighet, Transylvania. He was a very religious boy. He began to study classical Hebrew by time he learned to speak. Elie Wiesel nightmare began on 1944 with the arrival of the Nazis.Elie Wiesel was 15 years old when he was taken to Auschwitz. Since then, he was separated from his mother and sister. His only hope was his father; they were worked almost to death, beaten, and starved. His father was the main reason for him to overcome anything that got in his way. Elie Wiesel faith in god was destroyed after what he went through in the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel and his father were taken too many different camps. Usually they were taken to camps, by walking without food or proper clothes to wear.
Elie Wiesel’s father died a couple of day before he was rescued in Buchenwald by the U.S third army. He was 16 years old by the end of World War II. Elie Wiesel struggle to survive, but he overcomes adversity. After all Elie Wiesel went through, he settled in France and went to Sorbonne, studying literature, psychology, and philosophy. In 1954, Elie Wiesel decided to write about the Holocaust. His first book was called, “Night” and was published on 1958. He then, moves to the United States and became a U.S citizen. Elie Wiesel had visited Salem, Massachusetts. He has remained around the North Shore Area.
Elie Wiesel moved back to sight, Transylvania. His faith in god, and Jewish Tradition came back to him. Elie Wiesel influential thoughts was what made him recognized around the globe. His ideas to the public made him famous and got him to win a Nobel Prize.
